I SAW THREE GENERATIONS, AM I VETERAN NOW? (E3MONTHS 2020)

Today I decided to write (for the first time in the blog) in English since it really helps me to understand English better. In fact, my main goal is to improve my speaking skills so i shouldn't think a bit while writing. That's what I'm trying right now :) so there may be mistakes. Let's see what it will come out. Back to the main topic..

I know I'm late to criticize games that have been revealed in E3Months. I actually had no intent to write it. I think I'm getting older now or everything i see has started to be normal for me since I've seen a lot of video game reveals. BUT anyway here I am AGAIN to tell you AGAIN how those newly announced games will turn out eventually. So let's start with, of course, EA.

The biggest news in the EA side is actually not about revealing a new game, which they don't do that often already, but is EA Play, formerly known as EA Access for consoles or Origin Access for PC. First they came to Steam after all EA games came to the platform then it popped up in the Game Pass, which is a HUGE subscription platform for especially we Turkey players who have not taken good news in a long time. Even though EA Play has only EA games it can still be considered for at least a couple of months. It has NFS games which are not a few, it has sports games, which are not a few either, it has shooter like BF1, BFV and Titanfalls. So it is a platform that you come in just for a couple of monts, play the games you like and then come out. In short, the only right thing for EA has been EA Play.
EA also revealed a couple of indie games that Hazelight in it. Our anxious brother Josef Fares appeared during their new games, It Takes Two, which is also co-op game like A Way Out. Brother Fares didn't even change a bit being a cocky :) But I like his generous, pretentious, Beyaz Futbol-like speeches types. It warms me. And his games are my cup of tea so I'm always intrigued about it. It Takes Two is nothing different than his previous games. It is an adventure-platform game. A Way Out's strongest side had been co-op gameplay. It is so merged together that I hadn't been experience before. I really liked immersive, various and linked gameplay in A Way Out. So I have hope for It Takes Two.
I'm not gonna mention the yearly sports games but I want to point out that their Metacritic scores are not actually good so It hopefully will be a message for EA that they push a little bit. I'm tired of seeing the same game every year even I don't play it.
I also don't wanna talk about Star Wars: Squadrons and Rocket Arena which have been released in a recent months. Star Wars: Squadrons had a potential actually or at least I thought but of course EA ruined it. As for Rocket Arena, it is a game EA is trying new genres to see how they go just like their remastered games which have been disaster so far. Seriously EA, just not pretend those games have been remastered. Anyway hope you will learn your message (i dont think so but whatever) one day.

Oh, I talked a lot about EA. I regret now. The main focus should be on next gen consoles. EA has not a single next gen game Mert, stop it pls. Thx. Back to the REALLLL topic, Microsoft had two different conferences which were in May and July. The first one was not bright but we saw quite a few games. The sad part is that those games had no raw gameplay videos. It means we won't see them in a long time. I'm talking about Scorn, Chorus, The Medium,
Bright Memory looked pretty good. Gameplay side it questioned me that it might get boring after a time but overall it has potential. The Ascent also looked really good both in gameplay and graphics. I missed isometric shooters so it might be refreshing for me.
The second showcase had big titles such as Halo, Fable, Forza. But Microsft is not just about these games anymore. It has Psychonauts 2, freaking Obsidian games Grounded, newly release Avowed and State of Decay 3. Let's review game by game.
Halo looked really terrible dude. What da heck about those graphics ? Seriously you should be an example for other developers about graphics. You kept waiting all Halo lovers which believe me they are not a small group, finally revealing game and it looked terrible. I dont know about the gameplay side, which looked the same as previous ones for me but I'm not the one to talk about Halo gameplay. They must improve the graphics.
But Forza looked good. Forza have always been a good series. Even my friends that are not inside of gaming world talks about Forza with joy. This new game will probably be one of those.
We FINALLYY saw the new Fable I've been waiting years. Really tho I mentioned Fable in every E3 Guess article. We didn't see the gameplay, and it looks we won't for a long time, but we have finally the name. So I'm actually excited for this game. And It comes to Game Pass. yummy.
Speaking of Game Pass, Microsoft's plans are different this year. They focus on gamers. They definitely don't prioritise the sales the console. They are preparing for way beyond that, cloud gaming. While they are preparing, they also serve us a great, awesome, magnificent platform called Game Pass. Game Pass has tons of good games and it is only 30 ₺ per month. We can play all Microsoft titles at launch. It includes Bethesda Games. This is an awesome news especially for us since prices go higher in each day. That move was a game changer. The price hopefully remains the same.
Back to the games, State of Decay 3 looks meh again. Dudes should stop this title I'm fed up seeing it again and again.
Oh yea the other exciting trailer for me was Stalker 2. I didn't play the first one but I'm a huge fan of Metro series and its world. Stalker has that atmosphere and it looked quite decent. I will definitely follow the game eventhough I don't think the game will be released before 2022.
The other big one but will not be relwased soon is Avowed, Obsidian's the first without-a-budget-problem game. They say it will be biggest game for them. We shall see if we can be in one piece. Seriosly this game might not even come out in 2022, goodness :)
They are also working on Early Access game Grounded, which looks good actually. And there were rumors recently that they can start The Outer Worlds 2, which i definitely dont wanna see. There are too many games. Obsidian is a good company Eyvallah but they are so big to handle so many games. I dunno I have doubt. We will see.
Psychonauts 2 shares the same destiny with Avowed actually. It denies to get released :) I dunno what took so long but it's getting annoying after a long time like Cyberpunk 2077. Just please relase already. Thank you.
There weren't a Bethesda conference this year and it probably will never be beacuse Microsoft acquired all Zenimax Studios. That's good news for us. Thank you Microsoft. But all of their games have been showed in Sony's conferences, which it were before the acquirement.

The other wing of the bird, Sony has been good at conferences for a couple of years. And this year was no different. Sony also had two conferences, both of them were quite good. In the first one we saw Spider Man: Miles Morales, Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Project Athia, Stray, Returnal, Sackboy, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Ghostwire Tokyo, Hitman 3, Little Devil Inside, Demon's Souls, Deathloop, Resident Evil 8 and Horizon: Forbidden West. Quite a lot isn't it?
Spider Man is pretty much the same as the previous game, so skipped it. We didn't see anything from GT7 so skipped it. But we saw Ratchet, and i realllly liked it. It looked next game from every perspective, the visuals, the gameplay. This is what next gen games should be like. We didn't see much from Project Athia, Stray and Returnal. We probably wont in a couple of years so no waste, skipped it. Sackboy was really good. There are a lot of platform games revealed in this year, in console launch. That's really interesting.  And they are looking really good. I'm totally okey with this situation :)
Kena and Little Devil Inside were also quite competent. I took them to my radar. I really like those kind of games since it has good characters and environment.
Deathloop's video made my expectation a little bit down. It looks like they dont focus on story. They want to build an arcade game. So I'm not that hyped for that game. Resident Evil 8 is RE you know, skipped it. Ghostwire: Tokyo looked pretty different. I didn't fully understand how the game will be. Standart Japan things i think :) But they manage to make quite good games (I wish i was into Japan things). And finally Horizon is pretty much the same. I was expecting a new GOW, Horizıon, GT and Spider Man games. And it all happened. That was so clear but people reacted so much that they really didn't think they would develop these games. What else they would do after constructing a new IP from the scratch? Of course they will consume to the fullest. Anyway thats how game industry became.
The second conference we saw FF XVI, Hogwarts Legacy, COD, Demon's Souls and games revealed on the previous conference. I forgot to mention Demon's Souls. I know it's shame. Its one of next-gen looking game along with Ratchet and i forgot. Wow, awesome mert .s.s Anyway Demon's Souls is looking superb :D seriously i wouldn't guess this was a remake if i didn't know the name before. They did a magnificent job. We'll see more after release. Yea SEE, i don't play souls games i just see. I'm not that crazy.
Surprisingly FF XVI had me intrigued. I was thinking to play FF XV before this. And that game helped my interests move up. The charactars, the settings are looking good. We'll see.
Another long-awaited game just like Fable was a Harry Potter Game. And Warner Bros finally, finally revealed their game. And it looks quite decent. I don't expect that much because the developer is Avalanche Studios but thank god we saw it.
That was Sony. There are not much exclusive games but both conferences were good so I'm happy as a gamer.

I really don't want to talk about Ubisoft. They didn't revealed neither NEW Splinter Cell nor NEW Prince of Persia game. But the company has been changing lately so there is hope in the future. Anyway.

WB has also revealed two different DC games other than Hogwart Legacy. Both are co-op. Montreal Studio's game is terrible but Rocksteady's game has potential. But don't expect too much beacuse they really targeted younger generations not old fans. So there is disappointment from WB side.

I think this was it. All the events were online so the announcement dates were so different. I actually forgot most of them and I am tired and lazy right now to search them :) And the article is so long anyways.. That's enough is all I'm saying. Game industry is growing and changing so rapidly. Even though it goes the way I don't like there are still tons of games i enjoy playing it. And it looks like there will be in a couple of years. So just enjoy these precious times Mert :)

    With love.
